Sulky Chartreuse Experiment

Shabby Vintage
Good morning, dear readers!

I had another idea flash through my brain yesterday as Rosie Fey & I were walking in the Piney Woods.  After we made it back to the house, I pulled out some of the Sulky 12 wt. thread I've been tatting with lately and a few Ornella cream pearl seed beads.  This is where I am at now:

What do you think?  I may need to make some adjustments as the number of seed beads add quite a bit of weight to the piece.  You never know what I may decide to do.  We'll just see how this current round goes.

I have been eyeing a lovely golden shade of Valdani Luxury Pearl Silk and may have to play with it in a while.  What tatting projects are you working on, dear readers?  I'd love to hear what you're up to!

Don't forget to leave a comment on yesterday's blog post for your chance to win the Ecru Pendant Prototype!  I am off to the park for a walk with some friends before settling in the Atelier for the day.  Have a great day & until tomorrow~
Happy Tatting!

  1. Looking lovely in those pearls.
You asked what I was doing at the moment, I finished a bracelet last night which I will post on my blog towards the end of the week it's from a new book, I looked at the pattern and thought it would make a nice bracelet there's no beads as I was not sure where to put them so now I have done one I can work out where I would like to put the beads next time.

  2. Lovely as always! I'm working on a adding tatting to a very simple wood cut out. This is only the second time I've tried this and there's been plenty off cutting and re-trying...sometimes it's good to be stubborn! Next on my to tackle list is getting better with 2 color tatting

  3. This start looks like a very elegant start!! :) The one from yesterday reminded me of American Indian jewelry colors. :)
I am figuring out which pattern I want to try with HWT(Hand Wound Thread) for something new to try. :)

  6. I am embellishing a vintage pendant -- it's an old Avon piece with a green stone in the center. I am using some Valdani pearl silk and some delica seed beads in a light irridescent amber color. I also continue to do a little bit along on a doily in Lizbeth size 20 -- it shades from pale green to lavender.
I'm hoping to have more time for tatting this summer.
