Thank Goodness It's Friday

Winter Blossoms
Good afternoon, dear readers!

Well, it appears that there are no more kidney stones, but the bout with kidney stones masked another problem- Dad now has shingles.  He is taking an anti-viral medication and is at home resting.  Thank you for all of the prayers.  My family is most appreciative.

I spent this morning dragging all of the limbs Jim pruned from the peach & pear trees and rose bushes to the back.  He'll be busy this weekend spraying the orchard with dormant oil and doing vegetable garden prep.  As I was dragging the limbs, I noticed that the nandinas along our west property line were full of berries.  The cedar waxwings & cardinals have been gorging themselves.

I finished the special goody for my mom, but still cannot share the images with you as her birthday is this weekend.  I'll post the eyecandy next week and am planning to have a FREE pattern ready to share with you, too!

Guess I had better go give myself a nice hot oil manicure after all that yardwork before picking up my tatting needle and silk thread again.  Have a wonderful weekend & until next week~
Happy Tatting!

  1. I am so glad your dad is home and feeling a bit more normal I hope his shingles are not too painful, I have been told they are painful so I hope he's not stuffing too much.
I look forward to seeing your mums present, Sounds like your husband has been busy, we don't prune here in the UK until march, it's quite mild at the moment, with drizzle over the last few days.
Have a nice weekend, I look forward to seeing your latest pieces.

  2. Bless your Dad's heart, he's had more that his share lately.
Prayers continue for his recovery and your Mom as she cares for him.

  3. Shingles is no fun either, as experienced by my DH back in 1989 when he was only 47. He was quite miserable, so he empathizes.

It sounds as if you're having 'mild' weather to be able to do yardwork! We're just watching 8" of snow sit there and not melt for several days, as we're having cold temps here in PA.

    Happy Birthday to your Mom!
