Good afternoon, dear readers!
I had a productive time in the tatting chair last night whilst watching Amish Mafia on the Discovery Channel. After tatting my mom's birthday pendant, I kept having visions of an adaptation. So, I picked up a spool of Sulky Blendables 12 wt. quilting cotton in color 4025 "Hydrangea", added some silver lined lilac rocailles and cream pearl Ornella seed beads and tatted this variation:
I'm not finished with it yet, as there are a couple more rounds in my head that I need to tat. So... what do you think? I think this makes a nice Winter Blossom motif 3 (or is it 4).
Well, I have lots of errands to take care of this afternoon. Have a great day & until tomorrow~
Happy Tatting!
Balanced, pretty and I love the colors! Do you just start tatting or draw some first?
ReplyDeleteThis design was based on the foundation that I used for my Mom's pendant. Sometimes I will sketch out a general idea, but I mostly form images in my head & tat from there. Scary, isn't it?!?
DeleteBeautiful! Love, love, love the color. I will have to see about getting some thread in that color.

Dawna, I enjoy tatting with the Sulky Blendables thread. Especially the 12 wt. It is heavier than the usual 40 or 50 wt. quilting cotton.
DeleteYes, it shows that you had a very productive time in your tatting chair. It's beautiful in design and color. Karen in OR
ReplyDeleteI love the square look of this motif. Pretty thread too.
