Feeling Better

Pearls & Lace
Good afternoon, dear readers!
I am feeling a bit better today.  This allergy season has been a rough one!  Plus, the weather down here doesn't help.  It will be nice, warm and sunny one day, then rainy and almost freezing the next.  It keeps swinging from one extreme to another.  Let's hope the worst is over.

It's been a while since I posted some tatting so, I'll show you a few of my many works-in-progress:

The motif on the lower left is the Easter pendant I started.  I am contemplating what to do next as my original idea did not work out to my satisfaction.  The motif on top is being made to go with a wonderful top I wear to church.  And the purple motif on the lower right is one of the pendant foundations I posted earlier in the week.  I've actually finished 7 pendants, but will post images of the pendants when I get at least 10 to 12 completed.  Who knows- I may have to do a special blog giveaway event.  What do you say???

Well, I need to get busy in the Atelier.  May you have a wonderful weekend full of creativity! Until Monday~
Happy Tatting!

WIP

I have been busy tatting away on a piece that will be shared with you next week.  The prototype is complete and I have identified the areas to tweak.  Now, I am busy tatting the piece in Valdani size 8 pearl cotton, color M24 "Water Reflections" and am using size 11 Czech seed beads (silver lined sky blue) for accents. I'll give you a peak at the very beginning of the design:

I took this image early this morning before completing the foundation motif.  Check out Monday's post for the finished piece and FREE pattern!

I feel the need to do another giveaway.  Who is up for another event?  I'll be announcing the details late next week, so comment on this post to let me know what kind of goodies you'd like this time- an original couture tatting piece, thread, buttons, beads, a mix of goodies- you name it and I'll see what I can come up with.

Don't forget to go by the International Spring Quilt Market if you're in the Kansas City area!  Valdani has some of my work featuring their wonderful threads on display.

Well, this piece isn't going to tat itself, so I'd better get back to it.  May you have a fantastic weekend doing whatever makes your soul sing!  Until next week~
Happy Tatting!

New Doily Started

After sifting through the Valdani pearl cotton stash, I selected a color and began a new doily today.

I am using size 8 Valdani pearl cotton in color H 206 "Washed Orange- Heirloom" with a few 4mm "Copper Rose" Swarovski bicones.
To be honest, I didn't have any specific design in mind for this one.  I just started tatting.  Think I'll continue and see what I end up with.  By the way, what do you think would be a good name for this one?

Oh, yes!  I almost forgot...there was a goody in my mailbox this morning from a tatting friend.

Thank you, Heather, for the lovely vintage Star tatting thread and 2 shuttles!  I haven't done shuttle tatting in a while.  I may have to play some this evening.

It has finally stopped raining and Lily Fey is pestering me to take her out for a good run in the woods.  Guess I had better do that before she starts spinning at the front door & howling- she gets VERY excited about her outings in the woods.  Have a fantastic day & until tomorrow~
Happy Tatting!
